Stop Bill 47.
My wife and I 'DO NOT support Bill 47. We are tax -paying and registered Short -Term
Vacation Rental property owners in Volcano. Bill 47 is uninformed in its proposed
requirements and draconian in its excessive penalties and lack of provisions for adequate
Due Process. This bill should never have been advanced without the guidance of the
promised comprehensive economic impact study.
We consider our small cottage a service to the tourist industry on the island. As new
owners, we make little, if any, profit on it. Yet, every guest who has stayed at the
cottage has rated their stay very highly, thus adding to the reputation among tourists
that the Big Island is a good place to visit.
Please support small, high quality, and affordable vacation rental alternatives for
Big Island visitors and stop Bill 47.
