bill 41
comm, 2-1y,
Again! Less than 6 months after shelving, a bad bill Heather and Ashley are at it again with
another bad bill that has wording I can barley understand. Except I do understand that they
want control of my property and eventually the council at the beck and call of the hotel
industry, rather than the voters who you should be representing intends to shut down the
vacation rental industry. What happened to the 2-year waiting period to reintroduce regulations
after a bill fails? What happened to the economic impact study that was touted after 121 failed?
This quick reintroduction of more and more regulations is foolish if not unethical. How about
less regulation! Show us! who are in the hosted stvr business the massive problems that we are
creating the large number of complaints and lawbreaking that is going on. In reality we have an
amazing number of five-star reviews from guests who love Hawaii and the vacation rental
market. A simple approach is enough. We already pay the the TAT and county charges and file
state and federal income tax. How about the council look at the revenues and thank us instead
of persisting on this path of regulating the business out of existence.
