It is my hope that this body will allow the completion of the economic study to determine the impact of funds collected
in this field before coming to a conclusion on this issue. Especially in light of the fact that visitors to the island and the
state comprise the summation of funds by which this state functions due to the singular source of income that has fueled
our lives without diversification. Cutting out this vital arena at a time, which will always be the case, wherein our visitors
crave a more intimate accommodation to be able to gather with family and friends rather than be forced to reside in
multiple small hotel rooms, would be an enormous error with negative long term effects.
Please show wisdom in waiting to see the figures to know how much you are cutting out before performing life altering
surgery, especially on an island that struggles under the potential impact on an already weak economy. After 35 years of
housing visitors, it's been clear that there are many who will go elsewhere, and there are many less expensive places, to
be able to gather in a living room or kitchen with their loved ones.
Be the ones to set the example rather than the ones to be the model of what not to do in hindsight.
