Re: Nomination of Alan Okamoto of Council District 7 to the Liquor Commission.
Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate Alan Okamoto of Council District 7 to the Liquor Commission.
A lifelong resident of West Hawaii, Mr. Okamoto grew up in Kailua-Kona and is a proud
graduate of Konawaena High School and earned an Associate of Science degree from Hawaii
Community College. He is a dedicated father of two sons and a self-employed electrician with
deep roots in our community.
Mr. Okamoto has a record of giving back with solid organizations like the Friends of the Futures,
Aloha Meritorious Achievement Program and the He Alo A He Alo, Kealakehe High Alternative
Learning Program. His commitment to our youth and his desire to create a positive impact on
the island reflect his passion for a better County of Hawaii. Mr. Okamoto will bring valuable
insights and a strong community perspective to the Liquor Commission.
If confirmed, Mr. Okamoto will fill a seat left vacant by the resignation of Jennifer Wilkinson and
serve a term ending on December 31, 2025.
