K. Urban -Smith of Council District 7 to the Police <br />Commission. <br />Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members, <br />9, <br />I <br />I am pleased to nominate Ms. Bernadette C.K. Urban -Smith, of Council District 7, to the Police <br />Commission. Ms. Urban -Smith is a lifelong resident of Kailua-Kona, deeply rooted in our <br />community. <br />With her work experience as the Restaurant Manager at Tante's Local Grinds, in the County of <br />Hawaii Elderly Activities Division, and the Kona Clean Team, Ms. Urban -Smith has <br />demonstrated her commitment to serving others. Additionally, she actively supports her family <br />businesses and is a dedicated volunteer with local veterans' affairs, the Big Island Junior Golf <br />Program, the Elks Lodge No. 2616, and with the Tante & Araceli Urban Foundation. <br />Ms. Urban -Smith is excited to leverage her local values and community networks to strengthen <br />the Police Commission and enhance the effectiveness of the Police Department. <br />If confirmed, Ms. Urban -Smith's term will end on December 31, 2029.
