Appointment of Kolt Baptista as the District 8 Youth Commissioner for the
County of Hawaii

It is my pleasure to appoint Kolt Baptista as the District 8 Youth Commissioner for the
County of Hawaii. Mr. Baptista is a resident of the Kohanaiki area in North Kona.
Kolt's strong academic record, leadership in athletics, dedication to community service,
and commitment to personal and cultural growth make him an outstanding representative for the
youth of North Kona.
Born and raised in our community, Kolt embodies the values of hard work, humility, and
service. He brings with him a well-rounded perspective shaped by his experiences in the
classroom, on the field, and through his contributions to local organizations and events. I am
confident he will serve with integrity and be a meaningful voice for his peers.
Please join me in welcoming Kolt to this important role, thank you in advance for placing
this communication on the next available Governmental Operations and External Affairs
committee agenda.
Be advised that Mr. Baptista's appointment replaces the position previously held by Ms.
Peyton Haleamau, with a term ending date of December 31, 2025. At that time, Mr. Baptista
would be eligible to re -apply for a full two-year term.
