WITH EXPENSES FOR THE KONA TOWN NIGHT MARKET 2025: BACK TO SCHOOL EDITION.
WHEREAS, Lydia8 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to cultivate transformative artistic and cultural opportunities for wahine of Hawai‘i to mobilize their communities and
create real change; and
WHEREAS, Lydia8 is requesting funds to assist with expenses for bilingual signage, light towers, public safety and security personnel, refreshments for volunteers, zero waste supplies
and staffing, craft supplies for keiki activities and sound and lighting production equipment, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests
of culture and the arts, educational concerns, needs of the poor, youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities, public health and welfare of the people and the environment;
and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaiʻi County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief
funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Lydia8 for the expenses and purposes identified in “Exhibit A,” a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below:
