Re: Resolution for multi -year agreement
The Police Department currently leases commercial warehouse space for storage situated in
Kea`au, Hawaii and seeks to enter into a five-year lease extension, with the option to extend the
lease for an additional five years.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the mayor to enter into a multi -year lease extension for an
additional five-year period with Geo Investment Company, Inc., for approximately 12,000
square feet of warehouse space at an estimated cost of $8,520 per month, with a 7% increase in
rent pet year.
We respectfully request that this resolution be waived by the Finance Committee and be placed
on the July 23, 2025 Council agenda in order to expedite this transaction. If there are any

RE: Resolution No. 243-25 : A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF
LATER FISCAL YEARS FOR AN EXTENSION OF A MULTI -YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT FOR REAL PROPERTY TO BE USED BY
THE HAWAI`I POLICE DEPARTMENT.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above -referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter; timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
