Your Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well-being, to which was referred Resolution
No. 227-25, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 227-25, transmitted by Director of Finance Diane Nakagawa, via Communication
No. 361, dated June 19, 2025, adopts the County of Hawaii 2025 Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Barry Periatt from the Civil Defense Agency was present in the Hilo Chambers.
Mr. Periatt provided a presentation regarding the County of Hawaii 2025 Multi -Hazard
Mitigation Plan. (See Communication No. 361).
Committee Member James Hustace expressed concern regarding what the process was of core
planning and community input.
Mr. Perriatt explained that the community can take surveys that include information about what
has impacted us in the last five years.
Your Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well -Being is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Resolution 227-25, and recommends its adoption.
