Re: Proposed Amendments to Resolution No. 235-25; a Resolution Acknowledging the
Eightieth Anniversaries of the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Reaffirming
a Commitment to Peace.
Transmitted herewith are proposed amendments to Resolution No. 235-25. The proposed
amendments are shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No.
235-25; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be added is underscored.
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a copy of the new draft of this resolution that would
result if these proposed amendments were adopted is not attached.
The final enacting clause is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable C. Kimo Alameda, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; Malia Louis,
Sister Cities Protocol Officer; [Ka'i • Kiny r ,] Mitchell Dodo, President of the Japanese
Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii; Arnold T. Hiura, President of the Hawaii
Japanese Center; Charlene Iboshi, Chair of the Rotary Club of South Hilo's Peace Committee;
and Lincoln S.T. Ashida, President of the East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai."
