Re: Nomination of Owana K. Wilcox of Council District 9 to the South Kohala Community
Development Plan Action Committee
Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members,
I am pleased to nominate Ms. Owana K. Wilcox of Council District 9 to the South Kohala
Community Development Plan Action Committee (SKCDPAC). Ms. Wilcox, born in Kealakekua
and raised in Waimea, is deeply connected to our island and its needs.
With a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University,
Ms. Wilcox currently serves as the General Manager with Castle Resorts Hawai'i. Her
professional experience, combined with her dedication to community service, exemplifies her
commitment to making a positive impact. She has volunteered her time with Waimea Middle
School, the Waimea Relay for Life, and Na Lima Hana, among others.
Ms. Wilcox is eager to serve on the SKCDPAC to provide strong representation and advocate
for local values that reflect the community that helped raise her. Her passion for a better Hawai'i
and her understanding of local issues will be invaluable assets to the SKCDPAC.
If confirmed, Ms. Wilcox's term will end on January 31, 2028. If you have any questions, please
