Re: Nomination of Bambi Lau of Council District 9 to the South Kohald Community
Development Plan Action Committee
Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members,
I am honored to nominate Ms. Bambi Lau of Council District 9 to the South Kohala Community
Development Plan Action Committee (SKCDPAC). Born and raised on Hawai'i Island, Ms. Lau
embodies the local values that are essential to our community. She currently resides in
Kawaihae, where she is raising her two children with the same principles that guided her
upbringing.
As the Human Resources Manager at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott, Ms. Lau brings a wealth of
experience and a deep understanding of the local workforce. Her professional background is
complemented by a strong commitment to community service, as evidenced by her active
involvement with initiatives such as the Charity Walk, the Children's Miracle Network, the
Hawai'i Diaper Bank, the Friends of the Children's Justice Center, and the Big Island Giving
Tree.
In addition to these efforts, Ms. Lau actively participates in volunteer clean-ups along our
highways and beaches, demonstrating her dedication to preserving the beauty of our island. Her
attendance at several local SKCDPAC meetings has sparked her interest in serving on the
SKCDPAC, where she hopes to advocate for all of South Kohala.
