Geothermal is a toxic, expensive, noisy, smelly; dinosaur
technology & decades -long consultant slush fund boondoggle,
with our money.
Hawai' i taxpayers have been duped into spending multi -millions
over the years for ' geothermal exploration' , with not much to
show for it.
Geothermal Greenwashing 'Community Outreach' meetings are
happening now with big bucks f unding from the legislature but
they're advertising these meetings very quietly.
Two bills asking for multi -millions more, ($26 mil.?) failed in the
last Legislative session N so now, they're trying to drum up
support with community comments that they can take back to
legislators in January, saying 'the community' supports
geothermal N so give us more money to hire more consultants
'to explore'. (until we milk this scam into the ground)
Investment groups say geothermal on an active volcano is a
'risky investment' & that's why private companies aren't
beating down our doors to invest. So far, its only been the

state shoveling our money in that direction. For decades.
We need safe, inexpensive, state-of-the-art energy technology
for our hard-earned money N not funding some consultants' 3rd
vacation home or some legislator's bonus.
After watching this continuing farce for decades, it seems to
be a boon for consultants & boondoggle for taxpayers &
ratepayers.
