COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2GO 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO USA VOLLEYBALL, <br />INC., FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE HAWAI`I ISLAND LABOR DAY <br />CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT. <br />WHEREAS, USA Volleyball, Inc. (UVI), doing business as Moku O Keawe, is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to be the world leader in volleyball by 1) <br />developing, standardizing, and coordinating volleyball activities on a local level, 2) developing <br />players, coaches, and officials on a local level, 3) providing an opportunity for members to <br />participate and improve their volleyball skills, and 4) providing a competitive, safe, and healthy <br />environment for members to compete in the sport of volleyball; and <br />WHEREAS, UVI is requesting funds to help defray the cost of supplies and officiating <br />for the Hawaii Island Labor Day Classic Volleyball Tournament, which will serve a public <br />purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of the poor, youth, the aged, and <br />those with physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to UVI for the expenses and purposes identified <br />in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the <br />following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,500 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />01.0.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,500 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $2,500 <br />Public Programs <br />115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(UVI - Hawai`i Island Labor Day Classic Volleyball <br />Tournament) <br />
