Subject: Pass Bill 51
Aloha,
I am a pregnant farmer and longtime employee for a local environmental non profit that focusses on
inspiring communities to care for their coastlines mauka to makai.
I support bill 51 as it will enforce people to stop feeding wild animals in public areas. On the street I live
on, there are cars that drive by full of cat food and feed hundreds of feral cats around the neighborhood.
We did not have an issue with feral cats before these people began parading down our streets with food.
We grow the majority of the food we eat, and I have had to stop working the land and have to take
extreme precautions when cleaning and harvesting food I am going to eat because of the risk of
toxoplasmosis.
There are hundreds of other reasons this bill will help our communities and environment, but this is the
very real one that threatens the life of myself and my AND ALL future keiki.
Please pass this bill.
Mahalo,
Comm. o
