Subject: Oppose bill 51
WE NEED SEND A MESSAGE TO COUNCIL NOW THAT THIS TYPE OF BILL IS NOT PONO to criminalize the
compassionate, hard-working volunteers and non -profits who are making animals' lives better.
Basically, Bill 51 states that there will be no feeding of cats on County land. This will CRIMINALIZE all the
colony managers, cat feeders, and potentially the non -profits who support/sponsor them. INTRODUCED
BY MATT KLEINFELDER AND SUPPORTED BY DENNIS ONISHI FROM COUNCIL. Both of these council
members also VOTED NO on two grants for SPAY and NEUTER. This is really stupid. No feeding and no
spay/neuter??
We need lots of testimony so it makes it clear this is not PONO.
Above was copied and pasted but I Heather Garvey who live in Hawaii opposed bill 51. Is the point a
starve of cats until they all die? That's inhumane. I catch stray cats, socialize them and rehome them. We
can do better than abuse.
