Aloha Hawaii County Council,
I am testifying on behalf of myself, though I work for the state. I urge you to please pass Bill 51 and make
it illegal to feed feral animals on county property. The feeding of feral cats has put our
n-en- a in danger, costing some of them their lives. The cat advocates refuse to understand that they are
prioritizing this invasive species above our precious endemics. The only thing they might understand is a
law and a fine and potential arrest. While the state has charges pending against one such feeder, they
can only do so much when it is legal to feed elsewhere around the island. I again urge you to please pass
this bill and help save the true, native wildlife of Hawai'i.
