Dear Council Members,
I am writing you to express my opposition to Bill 51 which makes it illegal to feed the feral cats throughout the island
and criminalizes these feeders.
I personally know these dedicated animal caretakers who spend each day quietly and respectfully feeding starving
cats. They also try to trap and spay/neuter them and get them properly vaccinated.
Partnerships with them would be the smart route. They know what they are doing. Starving animals is not only a bad
look for the island, but, SHEESH 1, inhumane. Find a better solution and listen to their advocates. We already have enough
hurt and anguish and meanness swirling around us daily. Don't make it worse. Help the feeders make cats' lives better
and slow down their reproduction and health risks.
