I have been doing a TNRM program at the Kealakehe Transfer Station for the past 30 years. It is down the street from Animal Control. This program has spayed & neutered many thousands of cats and eliminated the over population of them in that area. Many people drop cats outside the gates at Animal Control during the day & evening. The Animal Control has had its gates locked since Covid. People drive up to the gate, call the tel. number listed and don't get a response. They dump the animals out of their vehicles and drive away. Many of these cats are tame and are peoples pets. Neighbors trap neighbors cats that they don't like. I initially brought cats to a Vet for spay & neutering and then bought coupons from the Humane Society. Advocats began free spay/neuter clinics over 26 yrs. ago. I have been trapping for every Advocat clinic since then. Currently their clinics are scheduled every 2 weeks. The feeder/trappers have saved the County millions of dollars by eliminating the over population of cats. It is the most effective and humane way to deal with community cats. Please find a remedy for the source of the community cats instead of penalizing the people who are helping the community and County. How about finding a solution for the people that these -drop animals? c_— c c Liz Swan -<- -J o -< nc-, Q cQmrrl. -4. M
