SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 68; AN ORDINANCE TO INITIATE AN
AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE VI OF THE CHARTER OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAI'l (2024 EDITION), RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 68. The amendment is shown below
in Ramseyer format with respect to the content of Bill No. 68; material to be deleted is bracketed
and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION I of Bill No. 68, which amends article VI of the Charter of the County of Hawaii
(2024 edition) by adding a chapter, is amended by amending section 6-11.4(b)(1) thereof to read
as follows:
"(1) Review and evaluate any proposed [amendments] amendment to building, electrical,
plumbing [afid] or fire codes [or-iginating ftefn iRtefflat ional and state eerie eottneils]."
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that will result if it
were adopted is not attached.
