COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 267 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA HEALTH <br />CENTER, INC., DBA HAMAKUA-KOHALA HEALTH, FOR EXPENSES RELATING <br />TO THE KOHALA SCHOOLS — TOOLS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Hamakua Health Center, Inc., dba Hamakua-Kohala Health, is a 501(c)(3) <br />nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality healthcare that is responsive to the <br />needs of their patients and community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kohala Schools — Tools for Success program is a project of the <br />Hamakua Health Center designed to address social determinants of health like education; and <br />WHEREAS, Hamakua Health Center, Inc., dba Hamakua-Kohala Health, is requesting <br />funds for the purchase of school supplies, to include backpacks and composition notebooks, <br />which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests and needs <br />of the poor, youth, aged, and those with physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Hamakua Health Center, <br />Inc., dba Hamakua-Kohala Health, for the expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a <br />copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount <br />as set forth below: <br />
