COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 274 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION WITH PURCHASING GOALS AND A SCOREBOARD FOR THE 2025 <br />HAWAI`I INTERNATIONAL FUTSAL CUP. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will host the Hawaii International <br />Futsal Cup (HIFC) from August 15-17, 2025, at the Edith Kanaka`ole Multi -Purpose Stadium, <br />Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, and Pana`ewa Park; and <br />WHEREAS, futsal is a version of soccer that is played on a hard court, usually indoors, <br />and is fast -paced, emphasizing technique and skill; and <br />WHEREAS, last year's HIFC tournament drew 46 teams and approximately 400 players <br />from Hawaii, Japan, and the continental United States, fostering cross-cultural connections <br />through friendly competition; and <br />WHEREAS, the HIFC tournament also supports local businesses by hosting food trucks <br />and local vendors, which boosts the economy; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase <br />goals and a portable scoreboard for the 2025 Hawaii International Futsal Cup; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to assist the Department <br />of Parks and Recreation with purchasing goals and a scoreboard for the 2025 Hawaii <br />International Futsal Cup. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
