RESOLUTION NO. 274 25
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH PURCHASING GOALS AND A SCOREBOARD FOR THE 2025
HAWAI`I INTERNATIONAL FUTSAL CUP.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will host the Hawaii International
Futsal Cup (HIFC) from August 15-17, 2025, at the Edith Kanaka`ole Multi -Purpose Stadium,
Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, and Pana`ewa Park; and
WHEREAS, futsal is a version of soccer that is played on a hard court, usually indoors,
and is fast -paced, emphasizing technique and skill; and
WHEREAS, last year's HIFC tournament drew 46 teams and approximately 400 players
from Hawaii, Japan, and the continental United States, fostering cross-cultural connections
through friendly competition; and
WHEREAS, the HIFC tournament also supports local businesses by hosting food trucks
and local vendors, which boosts the economy; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase
goals and a portable scoreboard for the 2025 Hawaii International Futsal Cup; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to assist the Department
of Parks and Recreation with purchasing goals and a scoreboard for the 2025 Hawaii
International Futsal Cup.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
