A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HĀMĀKUA HEALTH CENTER,
INC., DBA HĀMĀKUA-KOHALA HEALTH, FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE KOHALA SCHOOLS – TOOLS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Hāmākua Health Center, Inc., dba Hāmākua-Kohala Health, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality healthcare that is responsive to the needs
of their patients and community; and
WHEREAS, the Kohala Schools – Tools for Success program is a project of the Hāmākua Health Center designed to address social determinants of health like education; and
WHEREAS, Hāmākua Health Center, Inc., dba Hāmākua-Kohala Health, is requesting funds for the purchase of school supplies, to include backpacks and composition notebooks, which will
serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests and needs of the poor, youth, aged, and those with physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaiʻi County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief
funds from Council District 9 are hereby transferred to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Hāmākua Health Center, Inc., dba Hāmākua-Kohala Health,
for the expenses and purposes identified in “Exhibit A,” a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below:
