MEMORANDUM

RE: Bill 269, Draft 2, Relating to Wastewater Service Charge Rates
Attached for consideration is Bill 269, Draft 2. Pursuant to the floor amendment made at
the July 7, 2000 County Council meeting, this bill was amended. For the period
beginning July 1, 2000 and ending June 30, 2002, the nonresidential monthly base rate
charge per unit was increased from $21.00 to $31.00. For the period beginning on July 1,
2002 and ending on June 30, 2004, this same rate will be will be increased from $22.00 to
$32.00.
Further, effective July 1, 2004, this amendment establishes rates for the following user
categories:
• Single unit residential (monthly charge per unit) $27.00
• Multi-unit residential (monthly charge per unit) $27.00
• Nonresidential (monthly base rate charge per unit) $34.00
• Nonresidential (monthly usage charge) $4.25
• Private haulers discharge fees (per 500 gallons) $30.00
• Private haulers discharge fees (minimum per load) $30.00
