Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Members of the Hawai'i County Council, Please find attached an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 25-45, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai'i for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2026. On July 2, 2025, the County of Hawaii received written confirmation that our proposal to the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF) was approved. This funding will support the continued delivery of Financial Empowerment Services for our residents. Specifically, HCF grant funds will be used to provide no -cost financial and homeownership counseling through a certified U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) counseling service provider. These services are a critical component of our efforts to promote housing stability and long-term economic self- sufficiency for Hawaii Island families.
