A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF
KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE 39TH ANNUAL HAWAIʻI KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., (LCKCFI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service projects and activities
that meet the needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, is working in partnership with LCKCFI to host its 39th Annual Hawaiʻi Kupuna Hula Festival, which will
be held September 10-11, 2025, at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa; and
WHEREAS, LCKCFI is requesting funds for expenses such as judging services, lei, photography services, a resource coordinator, ticket printing and distribution, and emcee services, which
will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts, as well as the public health and welfare of the people and the environment;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaiʻi County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief
funds from Council District 7 are hereby transferred to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., for the expenses
and purposes identified in “Exhibit A,” a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
