Re: Nomination of David N. Kuahiwinui to the Ka`u Community Development Plan Action
Committee
Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members,
I am pleased to nominate Mr. David Kuahiwinui of Na`alehu to the Ka`u Community
Development Plan Action Committee. Mr. Kuahiwinui is a 64-year resident of Ka`u.
Born and raised in Na`alehu, Mr. Kuahiwinui is an active member of our community. He has
served in various roles, including fisherman, former coffee farmer, utility worker, and currently,
he provides services to tourists in Na`alehu. As a proud father and grandfather raising his family
in Ka`u, Mr. Kuahiwinui deeply understands and cares about the long-term future of the only
home he has ever known.
He is eager to use his lifelong experience and the values instilled in him by his parents to
contribute to the Ka`u Community Development Plan Action Committee. If confirmed, Mr.
Kuahiwinui will serve a term that ends on December 31, 2028.
