A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH PURCHASING GOALS AND A SCOREBOARD FOR THE 2025 HAWAIʻI INTERNATIONAL FUTSAL CUP.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will host the Hawaiʻi International Futsal Cup (HIFC) from August 15-17, 2025, at the Edith Kanakaʻole Multi-Purpose Stadium, Afook-Chinen
Civic Auditorium, and Panaʻewa Park; and
WHEREAS, futsal is a version of soccer that is played on a hard court, usually indoors, and is fast-paced, emphasizing technique and skill; and
WHEREAS, last year’s HIFC tournament drew 46 teams and approximately 400 players from Hawaiʻi, Japan, and the continental United States, fostering cross-cultural connections through
friendly competition; and
WHEREAS, the HIFC tournament also supports local businesses by hosting food trucks and local vendors, which boosts the economy; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase goals and a portable scoreboard for the 2025 Hawaiʻi International Futsal Cup; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to assist the Department of Parks and Recreation with
purchasing goals and a scoreboard for the 2025 Hawaiʻi International Futsal Cup.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
