1 strongly support Resolution 235.
It is crucial to acknowledge and commit to humanity, our environment, and to one another.

Sadly, -the signs of history repeating itself are prevalent in our current political system, both at the state and
Federal levels, with a rise towards dictatorship. We are increasing military forces, and corporate rule is holding
power over people and at the same time, cutting funding for the arts, culture, and education, and continuing to
elect leaders who underestimate the economic engine and healing power of humanitarian roles through the
arts, culture, and education, while blocking good leaders who would help us move towards peace. If this
simple resolution reminds us to do better, I hope it has a more profound impact on society beyond this piece of
paper. Real -life, actionable nourishment and the cultivation of empathy, compassion, and critical thinking skills
are taught through observation, reflection, curiosity, and thoughtfulness in the arts and cultural practices. To
me, it is the vital mark of a healthy and balanced society when we nourish these components within our youth
and community. We are moving away from this practice within our society so quickly.
I encourage each County Council member to be more radically indigenous and push forward support towards
education, arts, and culture over corporate rule. This is true peace being created and cultivated within
society.
Thank you,
