Aloha Honorable Council Members,
My name is Susan RobertsEmery, and I am writing today on behalf of the Green Party of Hawaii. We
would like to offer our Strong Support for Resolution 235-25. A Resolution acknowledging the bombings
of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and reaffirming a commitment to peace. Mahalo to Jim Albertini for bringing
this Resolution forward.
This is a win win for Hawai'i as we sit in the middle of the Pacific Ocean surrounded by miles of open
water we are a prime target with all the military presence on the Islands. Peace is the way forward. To
commit to the Peace Process, and to live by the word Aloha, in its many meanings, offers a clear path
forward. It is time to shed the military presence on the Islands and to acknowledge our past crimes.
Let us make right, and reaffirm a commitment to peace.
