Please consider a more humane solution than agonizing, inhumane starvation, especially when there are so many people willing to offer many and various resources to help with a more humane approach to what will surely be an ongoing challenge. I do have some experience in the matter. In addition to a demanding full-time job, I also am the vice president of a 501(c) (3) animal sanctuary in Volcano that safely and comfortably shelters a couple hundred cats and dogs. It is hard but rewarding work, and my heart feels good and accomplished at the end of the day. I have great faith that with just a little cooperation, all of yours will too. If we had some help with organization, resources, and support, the dozens of animal advocates on our beautiful island could do so much more good work that would benefit all Living beings, Native and non -Native. I am a court reporter and have reported several of your Salary Commission meetings. May I suggest a commission that includes several of the more experienced, knowledgeable animal advocates on the island? There are so many people who have selflessly put countless hours of their own time, and thousands of their own dollars, into learning and actively participating in rescuing/feeding/spaying/neutering/homing thousands of animals. comm. Date2025 Short of that, if the current commission would be willing to sit down with a few representatives of the community, we could more fully explain our ideas and show you proof of successful programs around the country and even the world.
