Dear Councilwoman Kierkiewicz,
I am contacting you again to provide my opposition to Bill 51. Starving cats is not an acceptable
solution. Trap, Neuter, Return and Manage has been proven by many national animal organizations,
including Alley Cat Allies, to reduce the number of cats. It has worked for me in PA and lam
successfully doing that here in Hawaii as well.
Cats at county properties are usually dumped, not feral, so the public needs support and information to
stop that practice. I understand that Lisa Lane Cardin, Aloha Animal Alliance, is working with the county
on responsible feeding.
Please oppose Bill 51 and continue to work with Aloha Animal Alliance to foster responsible feeding and
public education.
Bill 51 is important to me and I am following it closely.
