I wanted to share my opposition to Bill 51 in regard to the feeding of feral cats. If the goal is to reduce the population of feral cats on the islands, then criminalizing the feeding of stray cats is not the solution. Criminalizing people for showing compassion and love to animals is not how we make a community strong and healthy. If we are to stop feeding the local stray animals, that will only cause them to find food elsewhere, such as the native birds that are already endangered. What you should do is work with local non -profits (such as Hawaii Island Humane Society) who dedicate themselves to helping and caring for animals on the islands, fund more spay and neuter programs, offer and provide more pet -friendly housing. I sincerely hope you consider these points in regard to Bill 51. o n cow ='o Mahalo, c;c Eliza Sitz. C)7-< r ter"" CO fl --- Coma. E,11,.1g -, 0 Ref. To: - Ref. Doe 2 3 2025
