Bill 51 must be voted down or amended to clearly state that approved caregivers under county recognition
programs will not be in violation of law.
The county must begin to enforce animal cruelty laws and animal dumping to provide humane places or
facilities to take animals found, abandoned, and from those who are no longer able to care for their animals due
to ill health, death, loss of housing, or moving away so rehoming will occur. This is a compassionate, civilized,
community -based support approach.
The Big Island has so little support as it is with minimal veterinary care, animal sanctuaries, animal nonprofits,
or county facilities.
Consider using moneys currently being approved by the State Legislators without public approval for our tax
dollar spending to support such nonprofits and fix the animal cruelty and domesticated and feral animal issues
here on the island. Cis r g
