Randy Apele: This letter is to support the relocation of a crosswalk fronting Pahoa Elementary School on Pahoa Government Road. As Principal of Pahoa Elementary School, I am very concerned about the health and safety of our students. The present location of the crosswalk does not meet the needs of our students. Relocating it along with the crossing guard, closer to the church parking lot, will provide a safer environment. I met with Mr. Nishimura and Officer Almeida several months ago to discuss this relocation. It was agreed by all parties that this move would provide a safer crossing area for our students as they proceed onto campus. I was informed that this relocation would probably be ready for our students in the fall. In addition, "No Parking" signs will be posted for public notification and traffic control. In closing, I would like to thank you for your attention and consideration of this important safety concern. If you have any questions, please contact me at 965-2141. Sincerely, Mrs. Nalani Sing Principal cc: Mr. Dan Sakai, District Superintendent Mr. Romero Domingo, Head Custodian Officer Robert Almeida Councilman Al Smith Mr. Richard Nishimura, Public Works Comm.
