Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 80, reports as follows:
Bill No. 80, transmitted by Assistant Police Chief Sherry D. Bird via Communication No. 479,
dated August 26, 2025, amends Ordinance No. 25-46, as amended, the Operating Budget for the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — Justice Assistance Grant -Special Response Team
Capability Enhancement Grant account ($78,491); and appropriates the same to the Justice Assistance
Grant -Special Response Team Capability Enhancement account, for a total appropriation of $129,028.
Funds would be used by the Police Department for training, travel, specialized gear, and equipment.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 80, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
