Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 64, Draft 2. The proposed amendment is shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 64, Draft 2; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be added is underscored. SECTION 1 of Bill No. 64, Draft 2, which amends article VI, chapter 2, section 6-2.2, of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (2024 Edition), is amended to read as follows: "Section 6-2.2. Director and Deputy. (a) The director of public works shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council and may be removed by the mayor. The director shall have had a minimum of five years of experience in an administrative or managerial capacity, two years of which shall have been in public works, construction or a related field. The director shall also have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the United States of America in engineering, architecture, business[, publie adffikiistfafioift] or a related discipline or be an attorney licensed to practice and in good standing before the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii.
