RE: October 2025 PCPLUED Special Meetings
This memo outlines a proposed pathway for the October 2025 special meetings of the Policy
Committee on Planning, Land Use, and Economic Development regarding the Draft General
Plan 2045.
The Committee will accept public testimony during a special meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 8,
2025 at 5PM. Testimony will be received in both the Kona and Hilo Chambers, as well as Zoom.
Following this, the goal of the Committee is to reconvene on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025 at 9AM in
the Hilo Chambers for a presentation by the Planning Department on the "Thriving, Diverse, and
Regenerative Economy" section and by the Finance Department on the "Implementation &
Monitoring" section of the Draft General Plan 2045 as well as discussion and deliberations.
