SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 83; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 20 OF THE HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION,
AS AMENDED), RELATING TO PLASTIC AND POLYSTYRENE
WASTE.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 83. The amendment is shown below
in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 83; material to be deleted is
bracketed and stricken. Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a copy of the new draft of
this bill that would result if it were adopted is not attached.
SECTION 3 of Bill No. 83, which amends chapter 20, article 1, section 20-01-03, of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), by adding definitions, is amended by deleting
the definition of "reusable."

SECTION 5 of Bill No. 83, which amends chapter 20, article 5, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending the title of section 20-05-02 to read
as follows:
"Section 20-05-02. Use of reusableof]compostable foodware and serviceware
required."
