Dear Editor:
Your 5/30 article on a volunteer disabled (handicapped) parking c-ne , orcement
program, under the supervision of the Police Chief, is interesting o,
perplexing. As I understand the program, the volunteers would -wined
by the police to identify violators and issue citations.
My 15 years experience in Hawaii with disabled (handicapped) pear' ;-u? has
taught me one thing, the police are going to have to go thru a trai ,i,; course
in order to learn all of the intricacies of disabled parking. The cu° ~J- fiasco
with the parking woes of our chief is a current example for addi' i •;--l
training. 11 6~john W. Hartman
