the Establishment of a Volunteer Mabled Parking Program
Dear Chairman Yagong,
The Disability and Communication Access Board supports Bill No. 267 vhicIi seeks to Amend
Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983, Relating to Vehicles and TraPl authorizing the
Establishment of a Volunteer Disabled Parking Program.
This Volunteer Enforcement Program rrrrors a similar program established z.. managed by the
Honolulu Police Department. There has been a significant improvement ra arl ar- the proper use
of accessible parking spaces in our Oahu community since the program became r e~ nanent in 1999.
The Board supports the establishment of a volunteer program for the Count;: of 1 caii.
