SUBJECT:
Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 83; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 20 OF THE HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION,
AS AMENDED), RELATING TO PLASTIC AND POLYSTYRENE
WASTE.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 83. The amendment is shown below
in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 83; material to be deleted is
bracketed and stricken.
SECTION 5 of Bill No. 83, which amends chapter 20, article 5, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending section 20-05-01 to read as follows:
"Section 20-05-01. Prohibition.
A food provider or County facility user may not sell, distribute, use, or otherwise
provide to the public:
(1) Disposable foodware made from polystyrene or plastic; or
(2) Disposable serviceware made from polystyrene or plastic[, unless requested

if it were adopted is not attached.
