The Kea'au Middle Parent Teacher Student Association (Kea'au Middle PTSA) is requesting support for its youth engagement events for Kea'au Middle School (KMS) during the 2025-2026 school year, including the Halloween Haunt and Community Resource Fair. These events are designed to bring together the local school community and provide them with opportunities to connect, celebrate,, and access valuable resources. The Halloween Haunt is an annual family -friendly coordinated by Kea'au Middle PTSA. Now in its third year, the event will be held on Friday. October 24, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m, with activities in the lower parking lot and Shipman Gym area. The evening features trunk -or -treating and booths hosted by various clubs and organizations from Kea'au Middle School and High School. Open to the local school community, the event offers a fun and inclusive evening for the entire "ohana. Teachers create engaging booths where kids can trick:or-treat,often using skills or logic to earn candy or prizes, and attendees vote for their favorite booth before leaving. This year, local food vendors will provide refreshments, inviting the school community to enjoy a festive evening together. The Community Resource Fair brings together representatives from multiple community agencies in one place, allowing families to find the help they need easily. The event will be held on February 21,, 2026, at KMS and features non- profit organizations and community resources providing information and services in areas such as safety, health, housing., food, SNAP, tobacco prevention., keiki IDs, mental health, and more. Food and entertainment vendors are also invited to make the event enjoyable for the whole family. The mission statement guides Kea'au Middle PTSA to engage and empower families and communities to help make every child's potential a reality. The Halloween Haunt is inviting food vendors to come. A QR code will be set up for attendees to vote for their favorite booths, and a family member count will be included in the Google Form to obtain a participant count. These numbers will show how many people attended and how much food is typical for that size of crowd, providing insight into whether higher food availability attracts more participants. At the Community Resource Fair, there will be a greeter who will pass out a program for the day's event and tally attendees. Vendor applications will allow a breakdown of the number of non-profit resources, entertainment, and food vendors, revealing the community's balance between needs for essential services and opportunities for recreation. By gathering data from vendor participation and family attendance, Keaau Middle PTSA gains insight from both the supply and demand sides of the community. The feedback from these events will show how to improve for future events. No event is successful without providers and visitors., so hearing from both will show what the community needs and how the community can help.
