This project., taking place in Historic H6lualoa Village, hosts the Big Island's largest annual celebration of Kona coffee and local art. Now in its 26th year, the Coffee & Art Stroll features tastings of 15-20 Kona coffee samples, around 10 food vendors offering unique local dishes, and opportunities for visitors to meet farmers and learn about their processes. The event also includes the popular Chef's Choice and People's Choice Awards., coffee-themed artisans., and live entertainment such as this year's a cappella group, "Kona Blend." To ensure safety in the compact village., visitors will be directed to walk along one side of the street before crossing to the other, as reflected in the event map and brochure. Designated parking will be available at Kona Imin Center and H6lualoa Elementary School, with shuttle service provided. * 54, 501(c)(3) Mission Statement To promote and perpetuate the history and heritage of H6lualoa Village through education and community events. * 55. He created an event that would attract residents as well as Visitors to the village,, allowing them to experience the shops while learning about our coffee -growing culture and have the chance to talk story with many coffee farmers. As the founders of the stroll,, the Board of HVO continues to provide a volunteer workforce to coordinate every aspect of the event. Board Directors serve as the overall coordinator, as well as chairs for coffee farmer and food vendor, safety and parking coordinator, media chair, school liaison, Chef's Choice chair, and merchandise manager. We strive to include all shopkeepers in the process by securing their permission to place a booth, a lua, or a food truck in their "front yard,"'. * 56, Please upload a completed CRF Grant Budget Form. The desired outcome is to host a community event that friends,, neighbors., and visitors to Hawaii will want to attend. Attendance is measured through ballots cast and programs distributed; from this, we estimated 800 participants last year. While we do not aim for a large increase due to parking challenges, we are preparing for up to 1,,000 attendees. The Coffee & Art Stroll is unique in encouraging direct engagement between visitors and coffee farmers, offering an informal forum to learn about farming practices,, lifestyles, and the Kona Coffee Belt"s history. This outcome is reflected in the comments received with People's Choice ballots, where many express surprise at the work involved and the diversity of flavors. The "art" element is equally important: food vendors and coffee farmers are positioned in front of H61ualoa"s many art galleries,, highlighting the heritage of small, family -owned businesses that helped shape the village. Shopkeeper participation is a key measure of success. Currently, 80% of the 21 eligible establishments host guest vendors,, with only two declining this year. We plan immediate post -event debriefings with shopkeepers to increase participation toward 90% in 2026. Finally, our top priority is safety. This is straightforward to measure, and our goal is to report zero accidents or injuries.
