ʻOHANA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE 23RD ANNUAL MUSIC AND LIGHT FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, Hōlualoa Village ʻOhana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the history and heritage of Hōlualoa Village, and to providing educational
community events that highlight coffee grown heritage, artistic assets, and cultural traditions; and
WHEREAS, Hōlualoa Village ʻOhana is requesting funds to assist with expenses for special event insurance, two special duty police officers, venue fees, shuttle service, rental of two
portable luas and one Americans with Disabilities Act–compliant lua, musician stipends, candy, small toys, activity books, Christmas tree decorations, and printing of flyers and posters,
which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaiʻi County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief
funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Hōlualoa Village ʻOhana for the expenses and purposes identified
in “Exhibit A,” a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below:
