SUBJECT:
Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 52, Draft 2; an Ordinance Amending
Chapter 25, Articles 1, 4, and 5, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2016
Edition, as Amended), Relating to Henneries.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 52, Draft 2. The proposed amendment
is shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 52, Draft 2; material
to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION 1 of Bill No. 52, Draft 2, which amends chapter 25, article 1, section 25-1-5, of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) by adding a definition in subsection (b),
is amended to read as follows:
""Household hennery" means an outdoor site on a parcel or lot that is an accessory
use to a dwelling where female chickens ducks, guinea hens, and quails are kept, raised,
and maintained for the non-commercial production and consumption of eggs."
Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that
would result if the amendment was adopted is not attached.
