Your Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well-being, to which was referred Bill No. 96,
reports as follows: L
Bill No. 96, transmitted by Committee Member James E. Hustace, via Communication No. 548,
dated September 26, 2025, amends Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-62, of the Hawaii County
Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), relating to the Veterans Advisory Committee.
Bill No. 96 amends the Veterans Advisory Committee to no longer require one representative
each from the American Legion, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association, Big Island
Retired Military Association, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as eight at -large members.
Committee Member James E. Hustace provided a brief overview. There was no discussion on
this item.
Your Policy Committee on Health, Safety, and Well-being is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 96, and recommends its passage on first reading.
