HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 371 Draft 01 2024-2026A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF LATER FISCAL YEARS TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR ONE MULTIFUNCTION COPY MACHINE TO BE USED BY THE MASS TRANSIT AGENCY.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawai‘i (hereinafter “the Charter”) provides, in part, that “any contract, lease or other obligation requiring the payment of funds
from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution”; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency (hereinafter “MTA”) wishes to enter into a five-year lease agreement for one multifunction copy machine with printer, scanner, and fax capabilities;
and
WHEREAS, the lease for the existing copy machine currently utilized by MTA staff has expired and the addition of this copy machine will allow staff to perform necessary job functions;
and
WHEREAS, MTA estimates the monthly cost of this agreement to be approximately $183, based on an average monthly print volume of 5,800 pages, for a total of $10,980 across the five-year
term of the agreement; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a lease agreement for the purposes hereinabove described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 10-11 of the Charter, sufficient funds be budgeted in later fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under
the terms of the lease agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to Diane T. Nakagawa, Director of Finance; and Zachary D. Bergum, Mass Transit Administrator.
