A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE HAWAIʻI FIRE DEPARTMENT’S OCEAN
SAFETY OPERATIONS BRANCH TO PURCHASE STORAGE UNITS.
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Fire Department (HFD) provides fire protection and suppression, pre-hospital emergency medical services, land and sea search and rescue, hazardous materials response,
ocean safety, fire prevention, and public education for the County of Hawaiʻi; and
WHEREAS, HFD’s Ocean Safety Operations Branch is tasked with the development and delivery of ocean safety operations and public safety education programs utilizing a team of highly skilled
and dedicated Water Safety Officers; and
WHEREAS, HFD is requesting funds for two shipping containers, which will serve as storage units, allowing for more efficient access to essential medical, rescue, and communication equipment;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawaiʻi Fire Department’s Ocean Safety Operations
Branch to purchase storage units.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
